Welcome to the Museum at Portland Head

The oldest lighthouse in Maine, Portland Head is now part of the Fort Williams park owned by the town of Cape Elizabeth. The lighthouse was first lit in 1791 and has served continuously since then.

Fort Williams park has become one of the most visited tourist locations in its part of the state and also contains remnants of Fort Williams as well as the Goddard Mansion. Portland Head Light is one of the most iconic images of the State of Maine.
